Wordpress 2.1 status report

Things I’ve noticed so far:

Adding links in a post is much more fun - it no longer opens a seperate browser window; it creates an “artificial window” if you will, within the current window - so there’s no longer some thing that can get lost in your task bar! Very Ajaxy.

Autosaving seems to be working…. there’s some text that comes up beside the “save” and “publish” buttons letting you know when a post has been auto-saved; it seems to wait for a few minutes before the first save, and then saves pretty regularly from there on (Guess there’s no point in wasting server resources on preserving your 10 line (first autosave just happened) post. What I don’t know is if it’s time-based or based on the amount you type.

I’ll try and keep an eye out for new features…. but those are some confirmed-useful ones.

One not-so-awesome thing is that it looks like my favourite theme is broken; I’m hoping that the author will come out with an update for it.  Until then, I’ll probably just use the default wordpress theme.  You can’t stop the signal!
