The Substantial Move

Published: April 29th, 2007

It is upon us. I’ve packed up most of my stuff, save my Nintendo Wii, my monitor, my laptop, and a few other pieces of my life (toiletries, my toilet trees, my towels, my blankets, etc, etc). Still, there is much more that I am leaving behind: most of my books, Andreas’ Playstation (which I still have and will give back to him the next time he is in the country), and my massive collection of Scarlett Johansson erotica.

Tomorrow, as the first rays of the sunlight singe the bleached flesh of those who thrive on the darkness, I will be en route to the University of Waterloo campus with the goal of picking up my key and moving everything into the room (although not unpacking) before I have to work. I will then prepare taxes for the last time this year, and at nine o’clock, I will return to my room at UW to pass out, so that I can be up for my 8:30 class the next day. And there is no chance of missing it. The professor takes attendance…a practice which astounds me. Looks like there is no chance of me pulling a Foxall and missing this class.

Anyway, we should do some pre-emptive planning for a get-together of some kind in a few weeks. I know that the Spider-man 3 thing is happening on the 4th, so that is cool. But I’m talking gaming. Gaming shenanigans.

Foxy Fridays: Scarlett Johansson

Published: April 27th, 2007

The premiere edition of Foxy Fridays features one of the most attractive vixens in the movie industry today. Not only that, but it seems that any movie you see is bound to feature her. Her career is skyrocketing. And, since she is such a total knockout, if she is not in the movie that you are currently watching, you sure as hell wish she was. But I have spent enough time with a lousy introduction, and we all know that you guys want to be drooling over the wallpapers. So, step inside and get a glimpse of non-other than the lovely Scarlett Johansson.

ThinkGeek Wishlist

Published: April 27th, 2007

When we were at Brendon’s house on Monday, I got a chance to see some interesting ThinkGeek purchases. Brian’s Miyamoto shirt. Brian’s Ninja remote, and other such nonsense. Caleb even had an animated Mario key chain, and he had Bawls mints.

And so, I started thinkings, maybe I should consider looking into making a purchase again.

The following things interest me:

The 1-Up Mushroom in this picture, and possibly the Luigi Goomba.

This looks to be a rather interesting weapon. And it would give me something to shoot at Andrew once we’re back on campus.

These Acrobots continue to appeal to me.

This 1-UP Beanie has always appealed to me, although considering we are going to summer it may not be an intelligent purchase.

Would something like this be insanely useful? Yes. That’s probably why they don’t have any in stock. And this would be so fun to use if it was not so expensive.

Do you suppose you can still bring the blue sparks with something like this?

And this shirt looks f’ing amazing.

Calculus Professor

Published: April 27th, 2007

I’m incredibly entertained by the fact that my Calculus professor’s name is Nataliya Portman.

Seems like a cool name. I wonder if she looks anything like Natalie Portman.

Also, Andrew, have you heard anything about this professor? Or how about Hoffman or Becker?

Nintendo Buys Monolith

Published: April 27th, 2007

This news is more exciting than the fact that the Nintendo Wii is outselling the Playstation 3 7:1. It is news so explosive that it is likely to make people like Fraser, Dean, and my brother shit themselves with excitement, only to gorge themselves on Cheetos so they can do it all over again.

Nintendo has purchased Monolith Soft, the creators of Baten Kaitos and Xenosaga. Well, it was not an outright purchase. Nintendo holds 80% of the controlling stock, while Namco Bandai only owns 16% (of a former 96%). Can anyone grasp the magnitude of it?

First of all, it means that characters like Kalas and KOS-MOS have a chance at being featured in the next Super Smash Bros. iteration (I doubt that they will make it into this one). Also, it means that the amazing epic that is Xenosaga will not be released on the Playstation (as it has been in the past), but will instead see a successful release on a Nintendo platform. Isn’t it amazing that Sony is losing out on so many of its greatest franchises, while Nintendo is swelling? Swelling?!

Nice buy Nintendo. Very nice.
