So, apparently the landlord of my building slid a letter under our door telling the people in our unit that someone in our apartment has a wireless router that needs to be disconnected because it messes up the system.
Is that even possible? I mean…I cannot get my Internet to work here without my router. If I disconnect it, I use my most reliable method of connection with my family, girlfriend, and my school-related info.
Does anyone know if a router can actually mess up a buildings Internet connection?

Phew. Truth and justice has prevailed.
We explained to the coordinator that our code was only vaguely similar because we prepared our programs in the pre-planning stages together. Any other similarities were coincidental.
So, to test our skills, the coordinator had us each write the method again - from scratch - on paper. We both did. We both did it right (although I realized a mistake I had made upon the initial submission of the code).
And - in the end - it all worked out.
A happy ending.
Let this be a lesson to all of you. Sometimes, even NOT cheating isn’t good enough. You have to do some sort of super NOT cheating that even an all-powerful deity could not perceive.

So…I have been wrongfully accused of cheating on a CS assignment.
Apparently, myself and a fellow TO student have been slammed with “excessive collaboration”, which I think is ridiculous.
Three areas of our code was flagged: two of those areas were similar to other people’s code (in addition to one another), but apparently they were willing to overlook that. The third similarity between our programs was two for loops intended to print a matrix. However, this was not part of the program. This was a test, to see if the matrix we made would print properly. So, rather than entering print commands for each entry, we put in loops to print it in one go.
Apparently that shit don’t fly.
We never once exchanged code. She never saw my code (I actually worked on the program at a separate time from her). The only work we did together was preliminary work. We decided what the best approach was, and we talked about the steps that we should take to complete it. We then programmed to that blueprint.
And…apparently…that is cheating…even though it says in CS regulations that discussing the problem in advance is entirely acceptable.
This is not what I needed this close to the end of term.

Man, this show is hilarious.
Something Joss Whedon (Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) made during the Writer’s Strike apparently.
All three episodes are up, but they will be made unavailable at the end of July 20th so that they can be sold on iTunes and on DVD.
Watch them.

Gah. I’m really sorry about this.
I was going to do a whole big thing like last year.
However, the events since I went to Grease with ‘the girl’ (ugh, Binks is going to make fun of the quotations again I’ll bet) on Thursday had been slowly pressing forward to the crux of the matter on Sunday night/Monday morning, which left me away from a computer during the entirety of Binks’ birthday.
So, I offer my sincere apology for not wishing you a Happy Birthday on the day, I offer you Belated Birthday Wishes now, and I make a solemn promise that next year’s Binks Day will come with unprecedented spectacle.
