Guitar Hero Should Throw in the Towel, Rock Band has Won It

Published: October 30th, 2008

MTV, makers of Rock Band, have licensed The Beatles music.

The Beatles!

If they can get licensing rights for the music library of the Beatles…then they can get pretty much anything. And if this is an exclusive agreement, Guitar Hero development staff will be switching over to other projects real soon.

Wii has sold more than PS3 and XBox 360 combined

Published: October 30th, 2008

Holy cow.

Wii - 35 million.
PS3 - 16.84 million
XBox 360 - 19 million (at last count)

Tasty.

Now, when a game like the Conduit comes out with awesome FPS multiplayer, there is a whole host of people I can play online with. Sweet.

Pre-enrolment Begins

Published: October 27th, 2008

Pre-enrolled in courses for Spring 2008.

I was so excited when it said “SUCCESS” for each of the entries. Of course, Quest merely means I was successful in submitting my request for pre-enrolment. This does not guarantee pre-enrolment, nor subsequent enrolment.

I don’t know why they added pre-enrolment. It is so inconvenient. Quest was so much easier to use in the pre-pre-enrolment days.

Ain’t That A Kick in the Pants

Published: October 25th, 2008

Wow. So, apparently people were asking about a Resident Evil 5 port on the Wii (since the RE4: Wii Edition is the best version of that particular title). However, the developers have stated that the Wii couldn’t even handle the title screen for Resident Evil 5. Ouch. That’s a kick in the jewels.

Guess it is a good thing I have resolved to go Wii60 (when all my ducks/monies are in a row).

However, the interview seems to confirm that there will be future Resident Evil releases on the Wii. Which is awesome. I just hope that they are made in the style of RE4. Umbrella Chronicles was fun and all that, but it was really only enjoyable because of the background that it filled in regarding the story.

B-movie horror. Gotta love it.

Woman Kills Digital Husband, Faces Jail Time

Interesting story of digital homicide (so to speak).

Homicide isn’t actually the charge…but it is an interesting situation.

For Better or For Worse

Published: October 23rd, 2008

Read For Better or For Worse in the Toronto Star yesterday, and I couldn’t help but wonder why Elizabeth was all of a sudden a toddler again. Turns out that they have restarted the whole thing, and Lynn Johnston is redrawing all of her strips.

I think the best storyline was the death of the Patterson’s first dog, Farley. The storyline is really sad. Charles Schulz (of Peanuts) actually said that if Lynn Johnston ever killed off Farley, he would make Snoopy get hit by a truck during the same week so that people wouldn’t be stricken by Farley’s death. She ended up publishing this strip without him finding out until it hit the press.

It is uploaded below for your reading pleasure.

The storyline is really sad. It is even more touching if you’ve read more of the previous strips that involve Farley and the family.

But mostly, it gets to me because it makes me think of Marley.

I miss having an animal companion. :(
