CBC had a story detailing how a 15 and a 16 year old girls posed as police offers, told a 46 year old man to get out of his car, and then proceeded to tie him up, and steal his vehicle.
Let’s leave the issue of HOW one could mistake a 15 and 16 year old girls for police officers aside.
Let’s instead look at the girls. They managed to take a simple thing like auto theft, and make it oh so much worse. Here’s the full list of charges:
“A 16-year-old girl has been charged with robbery, forcible confinement, driving without a licence, personating (SIC) a peace officer and drug possession.”
Well done, my dear - you took what should’ve been one or two charges, had you just jumped into a car at a gas station while it was idling, and made it so, so much worse. I’d bet good money that the judge won’t take impersonating a police officer, and forcible confinement lightly.
