So Awesome, and So Evil

Here’s the video.

He was assigned to take care of his friend’s Star Wars figure collection… then he heard that his friend had sex with his girlfriend.

It’s so awesome, and so evil, because the other guy’s toy still exists, and he still has it, but it has absolutely no commercial value whatsoever.

Though, really, it only seems fair that the “submerger” at least pays the guy for the value of the toy…

Everything is funny as long as it is happening to Somebody Else. - Will Rogers

Woah!

(Yep… third post in a row to end with an exclamation point)

I know everyone’s seen pictures from space… personally, I find them a bit boring most of the time. How many different ways can you do, “Wow… the earth looks so small from way up there. It really IS a small world after all”?

This is actually the first time I’ve seen up close and personal pictures of what we’ve got up in space.

There’s some of the shuttle, and what I believe is the ISS (you can even see the Canadarm up there… still cute in its old age)

I donno; I find pics like this give me the “WOW” factor more than anything else… I mean, could you imagine working with just open air all around you; the earth beneath your feet? (WAY beneath your feet..); just such an OPEN area around you!

It’s like the opposite feeling of claustrophobia… like that feeling you get when you’re standing on the glass floor of the CN Tower, but much more so.

My God!

I now know why someone would choose to live in Florida - the southern united states, rife with miscounts and mishaps. Home to Disney World (Allright… that MIGHT not be a negative… but that’s about all I know about Florida).

Man… but you could live with all that.

I just had the BEST GRAPEFRUIT EVER!

It’s been a while since I last had grapefruit, but if memory serves it’s generally so sour that you either make your grapefruit look like your sugar bowl, or you play it tough and macho and tell everyone that they’re weak to need something like sugar. Either way, you never really ENJOY it.

But, my god, this girl gave me some grapefruit and oranges from a fundraiser that some of the teams here did - brought a truckload up straight from Florida. SOOO good. It was just lightly tangy, but the fruit actually had a bit of a sweet taste too… I now know why people even bother with the damn things.

I haven’t tried the oranges, they’re up next… :)

Preparations!

We’ve all got to be ready for the big embassy bash!

I recommend you all familiarize yourselves with the language here, as it will be essential.

I’m going to put special effort into correct pronunciation of the last phrase on the list, “Demiya Katsume”.

Now, I’m not that familiar with japanease; but the language is magical and whatever you say people have to do right? Right?? RIGHT??

Ugh… I’ll just learn this phrase instead…”Masu o kaku”… it’ll probably be more practical :(

Interview With a Vampire Music Executive

It’s interesting - it’s an interview with the CEO of Universial; the largest music company out there.

It’s talking about their blindness in the past and their current plan.

You can find it here.

Their current plan is “Total Access”. The idea is that, the next time you buy a music playing device, part of that purchase price goes directly into the pockets of the music execs, in return for unlimited access to their catalog. They want device manufacturers to pony up the cash for this, for the lifetime of the device (I don’t even want to THINK about how much this will raise the cost of music devices - or lower the already poor quality of music devices). Of course, a system like this needs DRM - the same thing that’s been causing them problems for years.

They never learn, do they?

(Not to mention the ethical problem of having to buy your music collection multiple times - your iPod, your PSP, your new “MP3 Player” in the den hooked up to the nice speakers - all of that would, since the price of the service is in the price of the device, require you to continually re-buy your music.)
