Commentary on the World

Someone Used My Toothbrush!

It must be TERRORISTS!!!!!

…What? So Fox can make outlandish claims about terrorists being responsible for everything bad in the world, but I have to be a mature, responsible, thinking individual? Boo!

Never assume there’s a giant plot out to get you, when things can be explained as simple stupidity and malice.

Haha, Cool!

I set up Google Analytics for the group a while back; but I’m the only one using it today.

The stats are pretty neat - sure enough, I’ve even got hits from Edmonton and Texas!

Within the last month…

The biggest referring site is redcardgroup.com; followed by Liam’s blog. Third biggest referring site is actually Tinglez’s blog (link in the sidebar). Admittedly, Tinglez’s blog is in a more distant third place, right along with Stu’s referral count.

Search engines account for absolutely no hits (which is fine by me, and the way I’d rather things stayed).

The most-visited post is my post titled, “You know… I might steal a baby…” (though this is a bit deceiving, as in general you can read all of my posts on the homepage; unless you comment you don’t even have to see the actual post page).

Why the Sliding Scale, OLPC?

I don’t get it - this is a charitable organization; the laptops are supposed to cost around $180 bucks/unit to produce.

Yet, if I want to donate 10 laptops to a third world country of my choice, they’re charging me $300/unit! Why?

Unless I want to donate 10,000 units, I can’t actually donate a $200 unit!

You’d actually help more people if you put your cash towards the “buy one/get one” campaign and fedexed it yourself to another country! Or you could just sell off the one your recieve on eBay - that way, you’d be able to donate a PC to the third world an only be out $200 bucks.

Here’s the page on their site that shows this scale of theirs.
