Binks Is Here

Commentary on the World

EEEEwwww…

Approximately 25% of all waste found in Toronto’s garbage bins in parks is…

wait for it…

DOG POOP! 25% of it is dog crap! That’s HUGE! There’s about as much poop in the bins as there are recyclables - and when one considers that there’re probably a lot of people going for runs or walks through the parks with recyclable bottles of water or pop… that’s just a shitload of poop.

And think about your average garbage can - it’s dark in colour, and collects liquids that seep out of trash. So you’re essentially slow-roasting dog poop in its own fluids… those things must reek in the summer… and the flies… ugh…

So, if you’re wondering…

…why most of my posts have been about a dozen words long lately, it’s because I’m in the throws of exams. Within the next 24 hours, I have two exams.

Then, I’ve got an exam next Monday, and another next Wednesday. Then I move out on Thursday, and I’m back in Stratford.

So, what’s everyone doing over the summer? When are they done their jobs/exams?

OOh… That’s Alkward…

My roommate’s desktop background on his computer for most of the term has been a picture of himself lying on his bed… naked.

Well, at least I know I’m not gay.

Now Jordan will no longer wonder why I appreciate his backgrounds so much.

Interesting Article

Interesting article from Wired, discussing how some “gamer parents” deal with games for their children:

Read it

Everyone and his dog have already read this, but I realized I hadnt posted a link to it yet.

Its a fascinating read.

I’ve got a job!

Hell yeah!

Got the job that I was most excited about over the summer - full time position with the East Zora Township. I’m mostly doing IT work, along with some front desk support.

Think what happened at my last summer job, except they seem to actually know what they want me to do, and they use terms like, “Your project…”, so it sounds like I”ll have at least a limited amount of autonomy. It’s located out in Hicksville Hickson, with is a 20-30 minute drive from Stratford. So, I won’t be around town for lunch, but it’ll be nice to have a well paying full time job, as opposed to having to stitch together a few part time jobs.

It’s also good to have it over with; now I can focus completely on exams.
