Binks Is Here

Commentary on the World

It’s like going through the looking glass…

Here is an article in the Telegraph, talking about a supposedly-in-the-works megahighway that would link, in one gigantic road, Canada, the US, and Mexico.

Texas is fighting a battle with it because they fear that the US would lose sovereignty.

WOW! That’s some freaky stuff there… The US is the 800 lb gorilla of North America; shouldn’t WE be fearing losing OUR sovereignty to THEM?

Any plan the US puts together would put them clearly dominant; they’ve got nothing to worry about.

Oldest Domain Names

Here is a list of the 100 oldest domain names that are still registered (oh, to have a time machine… those domains would’ve been worth thousands and thousands of dollars…)

Most of them are what you’d expect, the large telecom and computer companies (intel.com, att.com, ibm.com, xerox.com, etc. etc.). Somewhat surprisingly though, in 1986, tied for the spot of the 20th oldest domain name, is stargate.com

Who would’ve thought?

Notably absent are starwars.com or startrek.com - I assume those were registered later.

I guess this proves that stargate fans are the geekiest of all.

Feed Me!

Lately, I feel like when I’m using bittorrent, and I’m seeding a completed file, that I’m feeding the internet…
