Why is dating so strangely structured? It is truly engineered to work against those of us with a shy nature. The first step is summoning the courage to approach or engage in conversation with a girl. That is truly difficult as it is, and - for me - only worked out due to a ridiculously timed conversation that just happened to work out in my favour.

After asking a girl out, you begin to see eachother more and more frequently. While “going out” may be incredibly enjoyable, it is really just a long and complex evaluation process as they examine traits about you that they like and don’t like.

Following this peculiar phase, the evaluation is completed, and the proper paperwork is filed to make the relationship official. Now, apparently, you are legally recognized in Canada and the United States as boyfriend and girlfriend.

And, this is as far as I’ve gotten. I find the structures surrounding dating to be so wierd. I mean, do I have to apply for a relationship renewal in six months? Should I be carrying some I.D. card?
