Arrogance of SCEA execs

Sony’s people are certainly a strange breed.

I’m disappointed that they don’t really seem to care about their customers, which is evident as they flaunt their “How do I know you’ll buy our system? Come on! We’re Sony! Who else is there?”.

As they try to market their system, their stance seems to be similar to George Costanza’s in Seinfeld when they pitched the TV show Jerry to the NBC executives.

George: It’s a show about nothing. …

George: Nothing happens. NBC Guy: If nothing happens, why are they watching it?

George: Because its on TV.

Also, they seem to have very little knowledge of their competitors.

From the article:

If you look at our competitors, one machine has zero backwards compatibility and one only has it with a third of their games.

Right. The XBox 360 has issues with their backwards compatibility, but they are constantly releasing fixes. As for the Nintendo Wii, it is not only backwards compatible with the entire Gamecube library, you can download games from all previously released Nintendo home consoles. If anything, the Nintendo Wii has the greatest backwards compatibility of all time.
