The PS4 and Sony’s Plans To Rip Off The Wii

Sony has to be pretty cocky with the success of its current console, and the dedication of its fanbase.

The article is pretty interesting. It is written with a few spelling errors, and the author seems to have his head shoved so far up a Sony executive’s ass that he can see what they’re eating. Nevertheless, it provides interesting insight into the plans for Sony’s gaming division.

The Playstation 3 has not even been out for a full month, and they’re already talking about the Playstation 4. The PS3 is not even an established success yet, and they’re already dropping the name of their next over-priced gaming machine.

And 2010? Isn’t that a little soon? They’re going to have their 700 dollar monstrosity out on the market for about three years before they drop another bomb on the wallets of gamers everywhere?

To me, this seems like a knee jerk response to the success of the Wii. The Wii is greatly outselling the PS3, and - unlike Sony - Nintendo is making money on each system sold. Perhaps Sony wants to cut its losses and release something newer before it is completely obliterated in the gaming market.

And I like that they’re planning on firmware upgrades to allow for motion sensitive controllers like the Wii. That’s brilliant. If only Sony could come up with their own ideas.

This is why, when I have the money, it is going to be the trust Wii60 package for me. The Nintendo Wii has all the franchises I’ve grown up with, but the 360 has a lot of games worth playing (Gears of War) as well as upcoming releases that cannot be missed (Resident Evil 5, GTA IV).

Boo on the PS3.

Sony. I hope you perish, and Satan comes to claim your souls. I’m sure that such an arrangement was written into the deal you made with him.
