What a wierd time for a few choice TV shows. I just want to through in a quick blurb about the only shows I continue to care about on a regular basis. There are only three that remain: Heroes, Lost and Battlestar Galactica.
Heroes keeps getting better and better. But…come on, another hiatus? Seriously. This is ridiculous. On the plus side, it seems that the show has a clearly defined direction, and the entire series has delivered non-stop thrills and suspense throughout its run.
Lost has regained my respect after the episode ‘Enter 77’. It appears that the entire show has gone back to its roots, and people are exploring the island again. That was a problem I had with Season Two. It was all about the Hatch. And while the Henry Gale storyline was certainly intriguing, it didn’t make up for the fact that the Losties weren’t exploring and charting the vast reaches of the island. If they had any sense to them, they would have located all this stuff long ago. Fortunately, the show is redeeming itself.
Battlestar Galactica is amazing. Specifically Maelstrom, which had a surprising (and disappointing) ending. It was surprising because it was so epic…but disappointing because of how it alters the formula of the show. Nevertheless, Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama) had a truly memorable scene at the end of that episode…where he smashed the model ship…
Epic.
