People seem to think that the “Oh my God, you’re watching something that really happened!” concept will really sell movies. The fact of the matter is that the Blair Witch Project stunk, Cloverfield was kept aloft only because of an interesting twist on the played out monster movie genre, and this movie - Quarantine - has nothing going for it.

As a horror movie, people have gotten back into the gore movies and psychedelic thrillers. Simple zombie-like creatures jumping out of the shadows is not terrifying anymore. Hell, zombies are now required to sprint like madmen in order to be terrifying these days.
