CNET calls for PS3 success by 2012

Odd article.

I don’t entirely believe everything they say. Take a look at this one quote.

“I think Microsoft has an image issue,” said Pachter. “They’ve branded themselves as the hard-core gaming rig, and I just don’t think that the hard-core audience is that big. Thirty or forty million, but not 120 million. I think they’re going to keep capturing the hard-core, but they’re never going to appeal to family, and Sony’s always going to appeal to family.

What? Are you kidding me? Sony? Appealing to the family? SCEA doesn’t have a single family friendly title. If you’re looking for family games on the PS3, then you are buying third party multiplatform games that you could also get on the 360 or the Wii. At least Microsoft tries to approach the family side of things with games like Viva Pinata. Sony has never made any movement on that front.

This guy probably has a cheque in his pocket signed by some executive at Sony.
