So, our MTHEL lecture today featured a quest speaker on assessment.
We talked about levels. You know. Level 1,2,3,4. That kind of thing. Yeah.
The speaker was the first person with a math background who I have ever encountered that supported levels. And I appreciate the motive for levels. But…the whole concept of using them for grading is ridiculous, and it dawned on me that levels are designed to appease an age group known as the millennials.
More on that over the weekend. I have to write a scathing critique of levels, because they are - by far - the worst grading system ever.
