Boredom

I’m running out of ideas to fight off the boredom.

I don’t understand it. The weather is not bad today. What is with the lack of clients?

I’m beginning to grow distraught and a little restless. I have a Game Boy Advance here, with Yoshi’s Island, but I fear the sight of the Taxman playing a video game system might deter any potential clients.

I’ve run out of stuff to do. You guys don’t post enough to feed my weekly 40 hours of necessitated reading material. So, I read articles on Gametab. But I’ve churned through all the articles from the week, and there are no updates on the weekend. My regular list of comics also stop updating on weekends. I returned to Homestarrunner.com. However, considering this computer does not have speakers and I do not want to be caught with headphones, I’ve had to steer clear of Homestar, Bonus Stage, Space Tree (the Space Tree in Space), and Watermanstudios. Newgrounds, AlbinoBlackSheep and even YTMND (which I loathe) are also inaccessible because of the lack of sound.

I returned with dismay to the forums that I once frequented in my lonely days. However, Legends Alliance is like a plague. It erodes your heart and soul, and leaves you a withered husk. DharmaSecrets is even more excruciating, especially since Lost really started to suck but all the diehard fans are unwilling to admit it.

“They’ll tell us something this week. I know they will. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse wont let us down.”

Sorry folks. They will. I’ve started to believe that even they have no idea what their show is about. It seems that they have changed so much in regards to characters and storylines that it seems impossible for them to have a concrete plan for the future.

I tried to go to Capcom.com. But I opened up a single thread and my eyeballs exploded out of my head. Literally. Like little balloons they swelled and popped, sending eye juices all over the room.

So, having essentially run out of forums to visit, I began looking at game prices. Slowly but surely, I began to compile a list of games that I would greatly enjoy buying if it weren’t for the fact that I have yet to be paid.

And now, I’ve truly run out of options. I’m making a post that is about nothing. And I’m retreating into the safe hovel that is addictinggames.com. It is the last refuge for my sanity. Pray for me.

Starcraft?

We should schedule something soon.

I’ve got a pretty decent strategy that I think would work against Andrew in a 3v1 capture the flag like we did a few weekends ago. And I’ve been contemplating some effective measures to take on his forces in a bloody, bloody battle.

I’m confident that Binkle and I could win. Soon. Soon. SooOoOooOOn.

10 DS Game Ideas

Many of them actually look and sound interesting.

Check it out.

I think we can all agree on the final game on that list. That is - frankly - a no-brainer.

In fact, it looks as if all of the even numbered suggestions are good (they aren’t actually numbered, but you can all count).

Welcome to Canada Folks

I cannot comprehend it. I just can’t.

Because of yesterday’s devestating snow storm, it seems as if people have decided that today is a province wide snowday. Here at Liberty Tax, the customer flow rate has gone from the rapid-fire arrival of clients seen on Tuesday and Wednesday, to the trickle of customers from my first two weeks here.

From reports that I have heard, it seems that people all over the province are simply taking the day off, and staying at home. And I can’t understand why. In Toronto, these actions are easily justified. In the GTA, city clean up crews have been working since the early hours of the morning (4AMish) to clean up the devestation that followed the storm. Downed power lines, flooded streets, and debris in the streets were commonplace today in the Toronto area. But not elsewhere.

So why then are Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge residence phoning in as if it were a snow day in elementary school? Even one of my mother’s colleagues who lives in Shakespeare refused to risk driving in because of alleged treacherous roads. My father and I drove to Shakespeare this morning without even seeing snow or ice on the road.

Even last night, the weather was not devestating in K-W. It was worse during the day on the highway 7/8, where a tractor trailer actually flipped off the road and into a ditch. But, considering the bulk of traffic drove home in the bad weather in the afternoon, the roads were practically empty and hazard free on the evening drive home.

All of the reaction today to the bad weather continues to confuse me. We are Canadians people. We live in the Great White Fucking North. Giant piles of snow on our roads? That’s how we roll. That’s how we do things up ins. If you are born and raised in this country, you should be an extremely adept master of the drifts due to the snowfall we get.

I know how - down in the States - they get 3cm of snow and everything closes. But here? We’re Canadians dammit. We keep on trucking regardless. Our national slogan should be equivalent to the Postal Service. Not rain, nor sleet, nor snow…or whatever. This storm was not nearly as devestating as the ice storm in Montreal all those years ago, but people are treating it as if it was worse.

Come on people. Tough it out. The problem is not the weather. The problem is that some of you like to drive 140km/h in poor conditions, when the speed limit is 90km/h. And as a result of that, more of the sensible drivers are afraid to get on the road. Because it is not the skills of the speeder that makes it so he lives. It is the caution of those around him staying out of his way.

Anyway, there is supposed to be fog tonight. Watch that shut everything down too.

Tumor

Now I remember why I left Legends Alliance. The people who debate there cannot fathom an argument that spans more than five sentences. Apparently, once that threshold is breached, their minds turn into putty and cannot function any longer. I am debating with three people who are defending a point that I agree with them on. I am debating another point entirely, but they keep hammering home this one idea and they wont let it rest.

So, I’ve decided to distance myself from Legends Alliance for now. Perhaps I will return to the Capcom forums, and see how those fellows with the “New Resident Evil 4” story are surviving.

They’re probably dead, simmering in a pile of their own excrement.
