Stupid Java

I couldn’t figure out why my method was not working.

Turns out, I hadn’t change the return value from the default of 0.0.

Do I feel retarded?

After wasting hours?

Yes.

At The Movies I

As a result of a brief lull in my workload, I’ve decided to make some posts on this old and tired blog.

The first has to do with when I finally watched the movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

For those of you who haven’t seen it, the movie stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, and Meatloaf (pre-fame). There are others, but I figure those are the only names which will mean anything to most of you (and mentioning Meatloaf may have been a bit of a stretch).

It is an interesting musical. The songs are really amusing, even if the story seems slightly incohesive. Despite that, I can see why this movie has created a cult following in many major cities in North America, where the RHPS is shown at midnight on weekends in local cinemas.

The story surrounds the recently engaged Brad Majors (Bostwick) and Janet Weiss (Sarandon), going to see their mentor Dr. Everett V. Scott, since they met in his refresher course.

En route to his home, they get a flat-tire and stop into an old castle to use the phone. Inside, they encounter Riff-Raff, Magenta, Columbia, and a host of Transylvanians who are dancing the “Time Warp” at the Annual Transylvanian Convention. They are quickly introduced to Dr. Frank-n-Furter (Curry) - a transvestite from the planet Transsexual, in the galaxy of Transylvania.

Frank-n-Furter invites Brad and Janet up to his laboratory, where they witness the creation of Frank-n-Furter’s ideal male sexual partner, Rocky Horror. The remainder of the musical involves crazy sexual exploits and other horrifying things that would be frowned upon by a Catholic community.

Here are some images:

(I was going to add images of my own, but apparently there is some sort of glitch with my video encoder that forbids me from taking print screen of playing or paused video).

(Apparently, images are a bitch to find. I wanted to show the movie cast, not some of the amateurs who act it out in cinemas.)

Check it out at imdb.

New Template

I’ve gotten tired of looking at this tired old blog. Everyone else around me seems to be updating. Brendon has a new layout. Brian’s is constantly changing. Binkle…altered the colour, I think…

The problem is, I do not know what sorts of nifty little treats are feasible through web design. I would like to change my links bar from its current plain text to something a bit more lively. I’d like the web page to decrease in length, and maybe at a bottom and top bar for extra storage.

I also really need to redo that logo…I don’t even know what the significance of it is anymore. I just found a cool looking font and turned the “O” into an eye.

Ugh…good grief Charlie Brown.

Also, Brendon, I’m adding you back to the links.

Don’t let me down.

Another Midterm in the Crapper

Finished writing Term Test II for Math 135.

Initially, I thought I was doing quite well while writing the exam. I motored right through the first chunk of questions without difficulty, but then I hit a snag when I got to the proofs.

There were two proofs on the midterm. There were four potential proofs. I had two of them memorized perfectly, and two were so-so. The two present on the midterm were the two that were so-so.

Moreover, I think I did a simultaneous congruence question wrong as well…

Note

Binkle, welcome back to the links. I didn’t realize you were back in the swing of updating.
