Have I Mentionned That I Hate Paul Anderson?

He writes fucking fanfiction, and he gets to make millions making films AND he gets a decent looking wife.

What the fuck is the world coming to?

Source Ali Larter as Claire Redfield? Are you fucking kidding me? This is a joke, right? A big fucking April Fools’ joke. I mean…my GOD! I have such a vendetta against video game movies. It’s nothing but fucking fanfiction.

Prayers for Portugal

Don’t re-enact UEFA Euro 2000, where you guys lost to France in the semi-finals.

If Fifa World Cup 2006 ends with France playing Italy, I’m going to be extremely disappointed because it will be like watching Euro 2000 all over again.

bit Generations

Coupled with the release of Touch Generations titles on the Nintendo DS in an effort to appeal to mainstream gamers, Nintendo is now offering “bit Generations” titles for their Game Boy Advance system. The games consist of simple rhythm or puzzle games with even simpler designs and graphics. All six announced titles are expected to ship throughout July.

Now, I find this to be an incredibly stupid move. The Game Boy Advance is a dying system, and is receiving nothing but children’s titles and licensed movie-games moving into the summer. So, it seems understandable that Nintendo would throw some “Generations” title onto the system to breath life back into it. However, from a consumer standpoint, it really blows. Not only are they getting people to buy a system that will have no future support beyond these six games, but the six titles that they are offering are of a crude design, looking like something from the age of Space Invaders and Breakout.

To anyone considering purchasing a Game Boy Advance SP or Micro to get access to these titles, I recommend purchasing a DS instead. At least with the Nintendo DS, you know that you will have more and more Touch Generation titles available in the 5+ year lifespan of the system, whereas the Game Boy Advance could be “killed off” before the summer is out.

Just go with a DS people. Even if you desperately want the “bit Generations” titles, they’re still playable on the Nintendo DS. You truly cannot lose when you purchase a DS.

Back To Gaming

In this brief hiatus during the Fifa World Cup, I’ve decided - shockingly - to return to gaming commentary. Since Portugal does not play France until Wednesday of this week, I’ve decided to avert my gaze from Germany for a moment and divide it equally between the Orient and the United States.

Back to gaming.

Brazil versus France

And France won! If you were one of the people who thought France beating Spain was bullshit, imagine watching the match where Brazil - soccer gods - not only lose, but they got remarkably few shots on net. In the last five minutes, there were some amazingly tense moments though. One or two successful pushes towards the French goal, but the shots were usually wide. And the free kick 22 yards out from the goal that went just an inch over the crossbar.

Definitely a tense game…at least in the last 20 - 25 minutes it was damn good. Kind of boring in the first half…where nothing happened.

So, now the final four is all European.

Germany versus Italy Portugal versus France

Go Portugal!
