I’m sure you’ve already seen the trailer. But anyway, here it is.
I’m extremely excited to see Venom in this movie. It is also worth noting that - in addition to Venom, Sandman, and Green Goblin II - there will be a fourth villian present in the film. Excitement. [ Spider-Man 3

This post is - unfortunately - directed at those who went to elementary school with me. So basically, I should formally apologise to Fraser, Caleb, Rachel, Liam and the rest (or is that it?) for a post that you cannot relate to in any conceivable way.
To Andrew and Binks (and perhaps Josh and Brian), this post may have meaning.
Today, I was paying for gas at the Zehr’s gas bar when who do I discover in front of me in the line but Glen, the Filipino student from elementary school, who was friends with Mattie and the rest of us. If you don’t recall, he drew some stellar “anime-style” artwork for a story that Mattie and I were writing. (As an aside, the story remains unfinished to this day, but I still retain the originals and copies of Glen’s artwork).
Anyway, after Glen went to high school and the rest of us remained in the eighth grade (or the seventh grade for Josh and Brian), he and I drifted apart. I found out from Mattie in Gr. 12 history (a full five years after losing touch with him) that Glen was actually a homosexual. And here’s where the divide becomes clear.
When we were in Grade 7, I was looking at everyone’s e-mail accounts and the secret questions that they used, to see if I could cleverly (or so I thought at the time) sneak into them. The only question that I believed I could answer was Glen’s. How would I find the answer? Well, I’d ask him. His secret question was: “What is my favourite Pokemon attack?”
So, at school, I casually asked him. He casually told me. I casually locked him out of his e-mail account, laughed at him, and then returned it to normal. However, during this time, Glen believed I’d read an e-mail that informed me of his sexual preference. And he assumed that I was against it. So, he stayed away from me.
So, yeah. I find out five years later that that’s the cause. This was the first time I’ve seen him in about six years, and I stupidly didn’t say “Hi”. And now he’ll continue to think I’m a prejudiced asshole until he dies. Damn.
Alright. So, apparently, my summer holidays are ruined.
Originally, the plan was that my family, Sam, and Adriana (my brother’s girlfriend) were going to be spending a week up at the cottage. We’ve been planning it for a while now. On Sunday, July 16th to Saturday, July 22nd, we were going to be five hours away, living the cottage life in Pont-au-Baril (sp?). But now, things are screwed up royally.
The problem stems from the fact that Sam and I work for the same establishment. Apparently - according to the boss, Virginia - only one person per supervisor can have any given week off. This means that Sam and I, both working under Roy, cannot have the same week off to go to the cottage.
Frankly, this is bullshit. First of all, the summer doesn’t even have enough weeks for the staff under Roy, let alone the staff under any other supervisor (Roy has the fewest people). So, Zellers must really just fuck people over for summer vacations. Second, I need to have that week off, and so does Sam. In any way possible.
There aren’t a lot of options though. Let’s lay them all out: 1. Sam and I don’t go to the cottage. Completely unacceptable. First and foremost, my parents practically will not allow me to stay home from the cottage, especially after my dad borrowed two sea-doos (bringing the cottage total to three) on my account. More importantly, this will be the last family vacation that I can have for five years, as my co-op math program allows no summers, and who knows where I will be during my work terms. As I said, this will not stand.
2. I go to the cottage, Sam remains behind. While this is entirely feasible, it is unacceptable in my mind. I mean, yes, I could go to the cottage without her, but I wont. I’ve been talking with her about this for weeks upon weeks, and she is really excited about it. To tell her that now, she can’t come because Virginia is being a jerk would be unacceptable in my mind.
3. I book off the week. Sam books off July 16th and July 22nd. This might work. I mean, traditionally, Sam only works on weekends, so by booking off the Sunday and Saturday that our vacation overlaps with (and perhaps the following Sunday, if she needs time to recoup), then we should be okay. However, there is no guarantee from this point that Virginia wont be a jerk and book her during the week, in which case, we’d be back to square one. 4. Relocation Vers. 1 Sam has stated - in the past - that she does not intend to work at Zellers through the summer. So, if she has successfully found new jobs before the date of our vacation, then she may not be working at Zellers anymore and the problem disappears. However, I don’t want to make her feel like she has to quit, especially if she cannot find another job. 5. Relocation Vers. 2 I quit. Frankly, I’ve been sick and tired of Zellers for a while now, and its only redeeming qualities are the interesting people who work there (Rachel, Sam, Dave, etc). Otherwise, I could really care less about the job. It seems no one else does work. There was a pile of SIPS (sp?) and a shitload of shelves that needed to be removed on Saturday. I removed all but one, and left the SIPS for someone who knew how to do them. What happens when I get in on Tuesday, that single shelf is still there, and the SIPS are all incomplete. I mean, seriously, I don’t think they had that much to do, and it was a span of four shifts (Sunday 10-5, Monday 9-3, Monday 3-9, Tuesday 9-4:30). Lazy jerks.
As far as paying for university, I have $4000 in savings, $6000 in an RESP, and $2000 in a Presidents Scholarship. Ideally, this covers my first term. I have co-op in my second term, which should hopefully help pay for the third term, which gets me through my first year in a reasonable fashion. It’s after that when things go to shit. But, hey, that’s how it was going to happen anyway.
So, if I have to, I’ll just hand her my two week’s notice and be gone.
I got linked to this from IndieGameDev and I found it absolutely hilarious.
If you’ve played a lot of RPGs, you should definitely check it out, because it is funny as hell.
