Wii Releases

Is there anything to look forward to?

I’ve got Madworld, The Conduit, Punchout, and A Boy and his Blob on my radar. That’s…about…it.

God Dammit

Ugh…I hate it when you think a midterm went extremely well, and then it comes back and you did extremely poorly.

I mean…I lost so many marks on questions that were the exact same as assignment questions that I got perfect on. How does this make any sense? If they mark it right on an expectation, but it isn’t exactly what they want to see on a test, they should tell me. Otherwise, they are simply misleading me as to what will be given a correct mark.

EDIT:

The biggest reason that I’m pissed off about this is because I wrote two midterms last week. One, I thought was on a different day, and I hadn’t adequately prepared for it. I also don’t go to lectures. I got a poor mark on the midterm, which was okay because I thought I would have failed it (all the stuff from the course that I am good at wasn’t covered extensively on the midterm). The other midterm I wrote was for my favourite class: I love the course, I get 80%-98% on each assignment, and I studied for nearly 24 hours for the midterm.

The worst part: The difference between these two grades was 5%. That really pisses me off. What is the point of putting forth any effort if I barely pass anyway. I hate tests so much. I just cannot do well on them. :(

Awesome Speech in BSG

So, yeah. If you watched BSG, but then jumped ship, jump back in.

The show is in its final episodes (only two or three left) before it is done, forever. And Season Four has been absolutely fantastic.

This is one of my favourite speeches from Season Four. It may contain spoilers, depending on whether you have seen anything from the midpoint of Season Four onwards.

Of course, if you have been out of the show for a while, you likely wont even realize that they are spoilers.

Have a look.

Gaming Computer

sigh

I really want to purchase a gaming computer. All sorts of really good games are available that I just cannot play. The Nintendo Wii continues to disappoint. I’d like to get a good computer or an XBox 360, although I believe that online services are typically cheaper on the PC (thinking about Steam here).

The games that I want to be able to play are many, but here is a preliminary list:

Games I Want to Play:

Grand Theft Auto IV (PC/XBox 360) Team Fortress 2 (PC/XBox 360) Left 4 Dead (PC/XBox 360) Half-Life 2: Episode 3 (PC/XBox 360) Assassin’s Creed (PC/XBox 360) Bioshock (PC/XBox 360) Starcraft II (PC) Resident Evil 5 (XBox 360/PC?)

Does anyone know what sorts of specs I should be shooting for in buying a good gaming computer? I haven’t bought a new computer in years and years, so…I’m not sure how far ahead of today’s suggested system requirements for games I should be shooting. (i.e. if it says I need a Dual Core, should I go for Quad Core, etc.)

Zack Snyder

Does anyone find it a bit pretentious that plastered all over the Watchmen promotional material, it says “From the Visionary Director of 300”.

Isn’t that a little dickish? I mean…he’s directed very few films, and most of them have been remakes or straight adaptations of comic books.

What is so visionary about taking a Frank Miller comic and shooting it nearly panel for panel?

I’m just bitter because I’ve heard through the grape vine that they changed the ending for Watchmen.

Spam Queue

Apparently my spam queue picked up one of Brendon’s comments as spam. I’m not sure why. And I’m not sure if any other spam comments have been caught and then automatically deleted. I thought I had my blog set to never spam anyone who has an approved comment on this site, but apparently it disregards my wishes.

I apologize if you have ever commented since I upgraded and it didn’t appear. I need to figure out why it did that, because I currently have no comment filters in place.
