Because all the people subletting want female subletters.
Not cool.
I’m trying to be organized and find things out right off the bat, and I’m being discriminated against due to my gender :P.

What a weekend.
Friday
Halloween was fun. My hat was a little late coming in the mail, and my gloves were in Stratford. So, I went out to Square One and found a rather glorious replacement hat (although it was kind of expensive). I also went to a store called Zero Edge in Square One that has piles of video game, comic book, and TV shirts. I got three Mario themed ones: one with a question mark box that says “I’d Hit That!”, another with a 1-Up mushroom that says “1-Up” on it, and a final one that has Luigi sprinting away with Princess Peach in tow that says “I Scored With The Princess”.
I came back to Bronte, shaved off my goatee, and left only a Mario (or pedophile) moustache. Put on my overalls, and my red shirt, and the hat. It was perfect. I walked out into the school.
It was sensational. All of the Asian students were snapping photos of me as if I was a celebrity. All across Facebook this weekend - I am sure - have been uploaded pictures of me with random students. It was awesome. It was like being somebody famous. So, all the kids were really excited, and some people - to my dismay - were still calling me Mario on Monday when I returned.
After school let out, I ran out into the parking lot with my bag full of clothes for the weekend (and my DS for playing Animal Crossing with Katie), jumped in the car, and drove to Waterloo. Surprisingly, the traffic was minimal. I don’t know if I got ahead of the rush or if there was an accident further into Toronto on the 401 (actually, come to think of it, the radio says that there was one on the 401 Westbound further into Toronto). So, since traffic was blocked off, the road was pretty clear, and I got into Waterloo at a decent time.
Drove to Katie’s apartment, where my dad had dropped off the gloves earlier in the day. She had been busy working on her hair (to get it to shoot outwards like Princess Peach). Took her a little while to get dressed, and she needed to put the fabric M on my hat, so I left my hat with her and drove to the LCBO (in overalls, a red shirt, and pedophile moustache).
Bought my booze. Went back to Katie’s. We walked over to a friend’s house and played drinking games (including one which had a rule that said you had to drink if you ever used someone’s first name, swore, or said drink, which resulted in me accumulating 7 drinks in an escalating stream of swearing at people about how they made me drink).
We polished off a few Jello shooters (which had surprisingly little Jello in them) and headed for Fed Hall. Got in. Bought some drinks. Waited for the crowd to arrive and then we started dancing. We met another Mario/Peach couple there, but they also had friends dressed up as Fire Mario, Luigi, and Toad. When they went on stage for the group costume contest, we cheered for their competitors because of how their costumes were bad (the hat was wrong, the moustache was fake, and frankly my Princess Peach was hotter than theirs).
We also met a guy dressed up as an original NES system. Roma (a girl in my program) and her boyfriend R.B. (Roma’s Boyfriend) were dressed up in disco attire. And R.B. dances…so, he was actually dancing like Disco Stu the whole night. It was hilarious, especially when they actually brought on the 70s music. He performed really well. John Travolta-like. It was awesome.
We also met up with Katie’s two roommates (dressed as a pirate and some sort of slutty farm girl), Eddie (a fellow Beardsman who was a friend of one of Katie’s roommates and - I believe - we have seen in more stories than just my own), who was dressed up as an injured cyclist, B-rad (dressed up as Indiana Jones), The Crib (dressed as Medusa), Summation Chick (dressed as a Devil’s Advocate) and Mike (dressed as someone from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). Oh, yeah. Some other people from my program (and associated roommates) were there as slutty school girls.
The night went really well.
Oh, and when I got home, I shaved off that damn moustache. But you can still see it on Facebook. I look like my dad in the 80s. Ugh…how Tom Selleck could attract women with a ‘stache is beyond me.
End Friday.
Saturday
Woke up. Found out that we had to have lunch with Katie’s roommates (and Eddie) before they disappeared back to their work terms. I told Katie that I thought I should also see Binks and Danger. Since time was of the essence with her roommates, we decided to go see them first, and go to lunch with the guys the next day.
So, we went to Mel’s. The place was packed. So we phoned Katie’s roommates (who were picking Eddie up from some place in V1) and they said, “Let’s go to Swiss Chalet.”
And we did. I still cannot believe that a place that specializes in chicken can have such damn good burgers.
Anyway, we finished meals, parted ways, and then Katie and I hit up Conestoga Mall. Stopped in at EB Games (as I am known to do), and then we went to buy me new jeans. The reason for this is that the three pairs of jeans that I bought while working at Zellers have become so loose that they fall off. Turns out that I am now a 36 waist, and the scale tells me that I’ve lost about 25 pounds from those days.
I’m aiming to get down to a nice, healthy, buff 185 lbs. But for the time being, I desperately needed new pants. Bought some nice jeans. Katie approved of them (girlfriend’s apparently need to deem your clothing as acceptable, because you become an accessory when you start dating them).
We then got some blueberry cheesecake ice cream and went home.
Oh, and then we went to the theatre and watched High School Musical 3, which - surprisingly - was moderately enjoyable. It certainly was better than the first two (which I have also watched with Katie). She loves those movies. And we both wanted our high schools to break into spontaneous song and dance. :) So, yeah. It is an interesting thing we share.
After the movie, we went back to her place and watched the first half of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, before falling asleep. At some point on this day, I sent an e-mail to Binks and Danger.
End of Saturday.
Sunday
Met with Binks for lunch (Andrew had some sort of commitment - 25 to life I think he said in the e-mail). Got a tour of Velocity. Think I might try to get in for the Winter.
Went to Mel’s. Met two of Binks’ friends from Velocity, and we joined them for breakfast/lunch, which - I must say - was incredibly enjoyable. They were good people. Anyway, I got my fill of delicious breakfast food from Mel’s and delicious milkshake. :)
Before leaving, we set up a Venn diagram to show the relationship between people who masturbate in the shower and people who sing in the shower.
Drove Binks back to Velocity.
Katie and I hung out playing video games for the rest of the weekend, and I drove back to Mississauga.
To encounter a giant accident on the 401. A transport truck had flipped or rolled over the median, causing a lot of damage to cars in the 401 Eastbound and Westbound. And it happened to be at the Hurontario Rd. exit, which is what takes me back to the school. Who knows? If I had left earlier, I could have been in that accident…which is a terrifying thought.
Did staying late with Katie save my life? Who knows?
Anyway. This is just to tide people over until I have something substantial to say. Also, I’m doing laundry…so there isn’t much else to do.
MTV, makers of Rock Band, have licensed The Beatles music.
The Beatles!
If they can get licensing rights for the music library of the Beatles…then they can get pretty much anything. And if this is an exclusive agreement, Guitar Hero development staff will be switching over to other projects real soon.
Wii - 35 million. PS3 - 16.84 million XBox 360 - 19 million (at last count)
Tasty.
Now, when a game like the Conduit comes out with awesome FPS multiplayer, there is a whole host of people I can play online with. Sweet.
Pre-enrolled in courses for Spring 2008.
I was so excited when it said “SUCCESS” for each of the entries. Of course, Quest merely means I was successful in submitting my request for pre-enrolment. This does not guarantee pre-enrolment, nor subsequent enrolment.
I don’t know why they added pre-enrolment. It is so inconvenient. Quest was so much easier to use in the pre-pre-enrolment days.
Wow. So, apparently people were asking about a Resident Evil 5 port on the Wii (since the RE4: Wii Edition is the best version of that particular title). However, the developers have stated that the Wii couldn’t even handle the title screen for Resident Evil 5. Ouch. That’s a kick in the jewels.
Guess it is a good thing I have resolved to go Wii60 (when all my ducks/monies are in a row).
However, the interview seems to confirm that there will be future Resident Evil releases on the Wii. Which is awesome. I just hope that they are made in the style of RE4. Umbrella Chronicles was fun and all that, but it was really only enjoyable because of the background that it filled in regarding the story.
B-movie horror. Gotta love it.
