For Better or For Worse

Read For Better or For Worse in the Toronto Star yesterday, and I couldn’t help but wonder why Elizabeth was all of a sudden a toddler again. Turns out that they have restarted the whole thing, and Lynn Johnston is redrawing all of her strips.

I think the best storyline was the death of the Patterson’s first dog, Farley. The storyline is really sad. Charles Schulz (of Peanuts) actually said that if Lynn Johnston ever killed off Farley, he would make Snoopy get hit by a truck during the same week so that people wouldn’t be stricken by Farley’s death. She ended up publishing this strip without him finding out until it hit the press.

It is uploaded below for your reading pleasure.

The storyline is really sad. It is even more touching if you’ve read more of the previous strips that involve Farley and the family.

But mostly, it gets to me because it makes me think of Marley.

I miss having an animal companion. :(

Adventure Time

Ugh. I’m going through friend withdrawal. Too much fun stuff is happening that I’m not in the loop for. What is happening in the Loo in the coming weeks? I want to just have a relaxed “Hang out” with some people on some weekend, but I don’t think I have the car this weekend and next weekend is Halloween, so I’m going to Fed Hall.

Is anyone able to do anything in the near future?

Father fears boy lured by gamers

Interesting story in The Star today.

Some kid - addicted to CoD4 - runs away from home because his dad takes his XBox 360 away.

The parents suspect the boy has been lured away and kidnapped by evil gamers from the internets.

I’m willing to be that the son is off somewhere, hanging out at a friend’s place until this whole thing blows over. Is it possible to log in to an XBox Live account from another system? See if he has logged on. Maybe he is at a friend’s house playing CoD4 regardless.

Sitting Here, Supervising Kids, Not Getting Paid

Ugh…

Well, since the school realized that we were working absurd hours (8:50 - 5:30, 7:00 - 9:00), both Melissa (the other co-op) and I have been given specific periods of the day when we aren’t supposed to work. If they ask us to cover a class, we get paid extra.

So, my time off is Period 2 and 3 (10:15 ish until 12:30).

Yet, here I am. Sitting in the ILC, supervising some kids writing a quiz, all because I was on the computer (with reasonably fast internet) reading about Conan O’Brien’s tenure on the Simpsons writing staff. I should have locked the door.
