Nothing really big for Christmas. How disappointing.

However, I still have to find a copy of Zack and Wiki, and I must also pick up a copy of Wario Land: Shake It. I’m also really looking forward to Monster Hunter 3, which jumped ship from the PS3 due to high development costs and low returns. :P

Hooray.

Heroes - Proud to Disappoint

Ugh…why does Heroes decline with each new season?

The first season was good. Not fantastic. But good. The show had potential. Claire did nothing but complain about wanting to be normal. She lived with Noah Bennet (then H.R.G.) and was oblivious to his service for the company. Peter did his best impression of Jean Chretien while acquiring powers just by being near people. Sylar was a wicked cool villain. Mohinder was an annoying but necessary narrator and link between the characters. Hiro was the embodiment of a true and noble hero. Nathan’s sacrifice at the end of the first season was extremely touching, and the season ended on a good note. All the heroes were gathered together. And the threat that the world faced was really cool and tied in so well to their powers.

Then Season Two started. And everything seemed to be reset. Claire was living with Noah Bennet, oblivious to his continued service to the company. Oh, and she still complained about wanting to be normal. But her school’s uniform had changed from red to blue (because they moved). Peter continued to look like Jean Chretien and acquire powers, but he had forgotten how to use all the old ones due to Haitian amnesia. Sylar was a wicked cool villain, who had also lost all of his powers mysteriously. Mohinder continued to be an annoying narrator, but he no longer acted as a link between characters. Hiro continued to be the embodiment of a true and noble hero. Nathan’s sacrifice was undone because - surprise - he was still alive.

Oh, and the world faced a threat related to a superhero that had killed a main character’s father and was going to destroy x% of the world’s population.

Yeah. Same plot. Again. It was like watching the same season again…but it was worse and full of Irish people and ancient samurai warriors.

And then the writer’s strike happened. Heroes wrapped for the season.

And they’ve started again, promising more action and thrills than ever before.

Spoilers ahead…

The problem is everything seems so out of whack. Sylar has Claire’s power, making him unstoppable. So what happens? He becomes a good guy? Oh. Ok. That’s kind of lame. And Peter gets Sylar’s power, and with it, his hunger for more power. So, what does Peter do? Starts cutting open heads. And pure and benevolent Hiro? Stabs his best friend to get in with the cool kids. The only character who hasn’t become their polar opposite is Claire, who is still a whiny little bitch. Nathan has gotten lame. Niki/Jessica/Tracy is apparently created and given powers synthetically, but Ali Larter’s acting still sucks balls. The only cool thing is Mohinder giving himself powers and becoming Mr. Hyde. He is much more sinister and evil now, and is actually an interesting character.

But for everyone else…I’m just confused. It is as if they are no longer the same characters.

Ugh…the show continues to decline. Stuff had better pick up now that Robert Forster is on the show as Arthur Petrelli. Robert Forster is cool. He was in Jackie Brown, which is one of the reasons I think that.

Phantasy Star Zero

For anyone looking to invest in a new DS because of this game specifically, you may want to abstain for the time being. Pocket your money. Let the DS decline in price. Because Phantasy Star Zero does not yet have a North American release date. It might not get to these shores until the DSi does, for all we know. So, hang on to your money and hope for a price drop in the DS before you go out and buy.

Battle.net wants your money

Wow.

So, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 just dropped from my list of games to play online. Battle.net is apparently going to start asking for delicious cashy money before you can play games online.

Oh, and Starcraft 2 is being released in three separate packages…the Terran, Zerg and Protoss campaigns are separate.

I think Battle.net will be swamped with a lot of Terran playing well-to-do people in the future…as people can no longer practice with Zerg or Protoss in their campaigns (which will be released much later).

This makes me sad. Sad face. :(

Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?

So, told my girlfriend last night that I loved her for the first time.

It didn’t go as planned. I mean…I spent most of Thanksgiving weekend with her. We ate dinner with my family, and visited Binks, Danger and Stew for a brief jaunt of video game playing. And I was with her all Monday, October 13th, which was the pseudo-anniversary of our first kiss (read: It has been three months since I first worked up the courage to kiss her).

Yeah. Told her that I loved her…but her response wasn’t what I expected. She did tell me that she loved me, but after acting like what I said wasn’t a big deal. And I don’t know. Maybe it wasn’t. Maybe she could tell already. But it kind of kicked me in the chest for about three minutes between me saying it and her saying it.

:S

How does one properly handle the “I Love You” situation? I mean…I’m beginning to think I went about it in a poor fashion (and I hope this doesn’t damage my relationship, as Katie is pretty much perfection in my mind).
