Spike TV breaks big gaming news!!!

Actually, not really. But Joystiq seems to think so.

If you skipped last Friday’s show, you missed some of the most exciting news to grace Nintendo fanboys’ ears in quite some time – the promise of an E3 unveiling of a Wii holiday blockbuster, delivered by the mountainous Reggie Fils-Aime.

“We are going to have great new content maximizing all our key franchises,” Fils-Aime promised.

So…no. Joystiq, that is not really any important news. Nintendo is going to make a big announcement at E3? How often does a game developer make a big unveiling at E3? Oh…right. Every goddamn year. Reggie Fils-Aime did not provide anyone with any information during that Gametrailers TV show on Spike. So, what were we all missing exactly?

GTA IV Multiplayer Modes

Apparently, news has hit the internet about the online modes that will be in Grand Theft Auto IV. The fifteen multiplayer modes that sixteen people can participate in. Wow. Considering the “multiplayer” that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas had was lacklustre at best, this is a huge step up for the developers as far as multiplayer is concerned.

Online multiplayer is accessed through Niko’s mobile in the single-player game, where you can join up to 15 other players for shootouts and customize your character, right down to his or her race, hair and clothing.

Customize your character too? It looks as if they just went ahead and injected some MMO-style into the Grand Theft Auto franchise. To be honest, who among us has not dreamt of a fully functional GTA world where crime runs rampant in the streets. It would be glorious.

Below is the full list of game modes. Some are more obvious than others. I’ll keep an eye out for more information regarding GTA IV’s multiplayer, as it looks to be a substantial development indeed. It is a shame that the Multi Theft Auto people never really got an established multiplayer mode of any decent quality working, since this endeavour by the development team puts their efforts to shame.

Max Payne

Check this out.

Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne. And apparently Mila Kunis of That 70s Show and Family Guy fame has been cast as well. Hopefully not as Mona Sax. Mila Kunis is a shrimp. Mona Sax needs to have a commanding presence.

I’d totally cast Idina Menzel. I think she has the right look and she looks like a strong woman without sacrificing femininity.

Wii Information Prelude

It will come.

I haven’t connected to online yet, because I am on restricted bandwidth.

Give me time, and I shall deliver your “Friend Codes”.

Then, we will have to arrange a time.
