Scheduled Finals

All of my finals have been scheduled:

First of all, before the exams even hit, I have my final essays for ENGL108M (Youth and Adolescence) and ENGL208C (Children’s Lit.) due on Thurs, July 26th. This is also the date of my final exam for ENGL208C.

Following this, I have my:

  • MATH 136 (Algebra) on August 2nd
  • CS 134 (Java Programming) on August 4th
  • MATH 138 (Calculus) on August 7th
  • ENGL108M (Youth and Adolescence) also on August 7th

Wish me luck.

The Sopranos

It is a really good show. I’m almost done Season One, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy the show. It is such a good story.

And the acting is really good. And they are all actually Italian actors, which is nice. I always hate it when you see non-Italian people trying to play that mobster character.

Anyway, if you have the opportunity to acquire it, do so. It is very good. Uncle Junior is an awesome character.

A Brief Update

Okay.

I’ve got a few personal updates.

First, I got a co-op job. Thank God. I got two job offers: one from Mohawk College in Hamilton, and another from the Math Undergrad Office here in Waterloo. I took the Undergrad Office one so that I would not have to find a place to live in Hamilton during the fall (I doubt student residences would have any empty spaces). Also, I need to take Psych 101 before the start of my second year, because I need it as a pre-requisite to the Teaching Option. So, I’ll be enrolled in PD3 and PSYCH 101 next term.

I would have taken PSYCH 121R, which would have made my PSYCH 120R course meaningful, but they didn’t offer it during this term, and they do not offer it in the fall. So, my choices are limited.

Also, in the Winter of 2008, I will be living in Columbia Lake Village with three guys from N3. I’ll be in the house closest to the campus, so feel free to come and check it out in six or seven months.

That is all.

End communication.

Foxy Friday: Katherine Heigl

Alright. So, Brian managed to call this one well in advance, and I suppose it would seem kind of obvious. If I were to cycle through certain TV doctors, or TV doctor shows, there are only a few possibilities. House, Grey’s Anatomy, and Scrubs. Right? Of course. And Jennifer Morrison (last Foxy Friday) was from House. Grey’s Anatomy seemed most likely to follow.

And, looking through the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, you have a very limited selection of doctors. There is skinny eponymous character, who isn’t that hot. The Jewish Korean doctor who is okay to look at, but Thomas Haden Church defiled her in Sideways. And then you have the short gnome doctor who annoys the fuck out of me.

Then there is the lovely Katherine Heigl. I do not know her character’s name. I just recognize her as “hot doctor”. She’s so smokin’ that I would want to be in some horrific accident just to have her operate on me. Damn, she’s fine. And she is in the recently released Knocked Up with Seth Rogen (40-Year-Old Virgin, Undeclared). The movie looks hilarious, but I refuse to pay to see movies in theatres unless they deserve it. And during university months, even if they did, I wouldn’t have the money to spend.

Enough babbling. Check out the goods:

Katherine Heigl - Wide (1280x800) Katherine - Wide 1 Katherine - Wide 2 Katherine - Wide 3 Katherine - Wide 4

Katherine Heigl - Full (1280x1024) Katherine - Full 1 Katherine - Full 2 Katherine - Full 3 Katherine - Full 4

Katherine Heigl - Magnum (1440x900) Katherine - Magnum 1 Katherine - Magnum 2 Katherine - Magnum 3 Katherine - Magnum 4

WASABI

Mmmm…Wasabi.

The foreign cousin of horseradish tastes disgusting. My house had a Wasabi eating contest today, and after seeing that a few of the contestants had “chickened out” after small quantities of the stuff, I decided to get their motors back in gear by having a bit of it myself. I went through four fingers worth of the stuff (a line of Wasabi squirted along the length of my index finger) before I burped and felt horseradish gas go up my nose. It burned for a little, but the worst effect is the stomach gurgling that lingers long after the spice has left your mouth.

Ugh. This stuff was so terrible that I can assure the world that I will never again even contemplate trying Wasabi. What a terrible condiment.

On an unrelated note, I did try sushi for the first time. It was the stuff from the cafeteria, which I am told is quite terrible. However, I didn’t mind it. In fact, I thought it was quite good. It was some seafood and cucumber (or some similar vegetable) wrapped in rice. And it tasted like rice pudding (due to the heavy quantities of the rice wrapping). It was quite good. And if the cafeteria stuff is supposed to be bad, I can only imagine how good the good stuff is. Mmmm.
